I painted this piece during the initial C19 lockdown in the the UK, 2020.

Something David Hockney said on the BBC at the time about not cancelling the Spring really stuck with me and helped me to focus on painting a series of artworks featuring the landscape around me while Spring was emerging.

This is a view from my work window at Cambridge University. I have always made paintings of windows. I like how they frame a limited amount of a view. This allows me to focus on the architecture of the window frame and the interior elements of the space. In order for the painting to be successful to me, the image I am depicting needs to be transformed by the paint. Windows are a format that allow me to do this.

Once a painting is purchased, it will be expertly packaged and shipped to your address including a signature on the back. Delivery times vary however I aim to pack and ship artworks within one week of purchase. Oil Paintings on Birch Plywood - this work will ship flat in a sturdy, well-protected cardboard box. Very large oil paintings on wood will usually ship in a custom-made wooden crate. Some paintings have a lot of heavy, thick paint on them called ‘impasto’. The surface is delicate, and should be handled with care. Generally speaking, when oil paintings are framed, they should not be glazed, and they should not be hung in direct sunlight.
